A DAY AS A MEKONG FISHERMAN

ITINERARY:

Step into the daily rhythm of the Mekong Delta and experience how rivers sustain life in Vietnam’s countryside. This full-day eco tour brings you close to the land and its people — from vibrant village markets to peaceful canals and lush coconut gardens.

Cruise through quiet waterways by private boat and stop along the riverbanks to observe and try traditional riverbank fishing, a common local livelihood using simple nets and bamboo rods. Learn how families rely on the river for food and farming, not as sport, but as a way of life passed down through generations.

Join locals in their garden to pick fresh vegetables that will be used for your lunch, then learn to cook signature southern dishes in a peaceful countryside kitchen. Enjoy a relaxing meal under the coconut palms before ending the day with a serene sampan ride through shaded nipa canals on your way back to Saigon.

TIMELINES:

08:00: Pick-up from your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and drive one hour to Ben Luc.
09:00: Visit Ben Luc Market to explore local produce and buy bait for your fishing adventure.
09:45: Board a traditional motorboat at Go Dung Pier. Cruise along scenic canals to your first fishing spot under a rural bridge. Enjoy about 1.5 hours of fishing, with fruits, snacks, and chilled drinks provided.
11:45: Continue boating into shaded, narrow canals and take a short countryside walk t and enjoy the rural scenery.

12:15: Arrive at a local coconut garden.

Participate in:

• Duck herding experience (“Duck Massage”)

• Canal bailing with a traditional scoop 

• Cooking class featuring: Vietnamese Pancake (Bánh Xèo), Spring Rolls (Chả Giò), and Grilled Pork in Lalot Leaves (Thịt Nướng Lá Lốp).

• Enjoy a home-style lunch including the dishes you prepared plus Lemongrass Chicken, Fried Eggs, Minced Pork Soup, Steamed Rice, and seasonal fruits.

• Relax in a hammock beneath the coconut trees.

14:30: Rowboat ride through peaceful nipa canals.

15:00: Motorboat transfer back to Go Dung Pier.

15:30: Return drive to Ho Chi Minh City.

17:00: Drop-off at your hotel.

CHILDREN PRICES:

• Children under 3 years old: free of charge, the family pays for the child's own expenses (if any). Families of 2 adults can only accompany 1 child for free, from the 2nd child and above must buy 1 tour ticket as 50% of the adult tour price, sharing a bed with parents.
• Children from 3-9 years old: 75% of the adult tour price, sharing bed with parents.
• Children from 10 years old and above: 100% of the adult tour price.
• In case children join the tour by plane, train ... Transportation fares will apply according to each airline from which the group departs.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

• Cancellations immediately after registration are charged 30% of the tour price.
• Cancellations made 10 days prior to departure are charged 50% of the tour price.
• Cancellations made 5 days prior to departure are charged 70% of the tour price.
• Cancellations made 3 days prior to departure are charged 100% of the tour price.
